Carmen Lamont …

Carmen is a veteran guitarist with many years of playing and teaching experience. In the early days of her career she studied privately and then followed that up studying at Humber College in their Jazz Program. She went on to tour for many years with various bands. More recently, Carmen focuses on her own original nu-rock band “The Bleeding Lights” as well as regularly performing locally as a soloist and with the cover band “The Copy Cats”

Carmen loves to teach and has been doing it for many years. She likes to split her focus between the more technical side of things and the more fun side of the things, trying to balance the important fundamentals with the weekly fun of playing guitar. Carmen loves to sing and likes to inject as much singing as possible into her lessons which makes her a perfect choice for a student who is interested in learning to play guitar and sing in a singer/songwriter type of way. Carmen enjoys the younger students (7+) and has lots of experience with them but is equally as comfortable with adults. Carmen also teaches Ukulele.


Katie DiMauro ...

Katie is an accomplished pianist, vocalist and songwriter. In terms of musical education, she has completed her Grade 8 RCM in both piano and voice as well as spent many years involved in musical theatre and a cappella singing ensembles. She attended Wilfred Laurier University where she earned her degree majoring in English and minoring in Music. Katie has years of private teaching experience and is a great option for most piano and voice students of all ages. Outside of music, Katie enjoys hiking and anything to do with travelling so long as it is outdoors !


Kate Yang …

At Kate’s young age, she has achieved a fantastic amount of success with her piano studies. Kate has completed her Grade 10 RCM in the 10 years that she has been playing. She is currently working towards completing her ARCT teaching credential with the RCM. Having taught privately for the past few years, Kate is happy to be joining our team focusing helping younger students find their love for piano. Kate is also fluent in Chinese which can be a great benefit for our Chinese speaking students and their families.


Clara Moniz …

Clara has been involved with music since as early as she can remember. Her initial instrument was violin and she continues to study it to this day. She has completed the Suzuki curriculum and has worked as a Suzuki Teen Mentor, working with younger students as they work through the Suzuki method. In the more recent years, Clara turned her focus to singing where she has studied and completed her RCM Grade 8 Theory and Voice. Her practical experience consists of numerous choral choirs and sting ensembles as well as a LOT of musical performance at her School, Cawthra Park where she is a Musical Arts Major (voice & saxophone) in the Regional Arts Program (RAP) entering her final year.

Olivia Bates …

Olivia joins our teaching staff with a wealth of musical experience for her young age. Olivia has played piano since the age of 3 starting her journey in the Yamaha Music program. She has since completed her Grade 7 RCM Piano. Along the way, she took up Trumpet in grade school but soon realized her passion for the instrument. This led her to enrol as a music major (Trumpet) at Cawthra Park in their renowned RAP (Regional Arts Program) where she continues to study trumpet, mostly in the Jazz genre. She also plays in a number of extra curricular Jazz bands in the GTA. Olivia has also spent a LOT of time working in and on theatre productions in and out of school. There are not many musicals that she does not LOVE! Her love of music, passion for live performances and fun personality make her a great option for your piano or trumpet studies.

Claire Haig-Hallsall…

Claire joins our school with over a decade of teaching and performing experience. From an early age, Claire knew that she was going to be a singer. Years of private study led her to Toronto where she studied at the Randolph College For The Performing Arts, where she studied voice, dance and acting. Clarie is well versed in many styles of music including rock, pop, jazz, classical and broadway music. She works with each student individually to develop a unique program that helps her students learn and progress while having as much fun as possible!


Ross Burant ...

After spending 13 years studying the violin, Ross turned his attention to guitar. In 2014 he completed his Bachelor of Contemporary Music degree at Humber College studying with some of Canada's top guitar instructors. While Ross's focus these days is on guitar, he keeps his violin skills up by continuing to practice as well as performing with various types of ensembles from time to time. On guitar, Ross has a strong background in jazz but taps into various other styles including rock, pop, country and blues for his gigging work.


Galen Weir ...

Galen is a graduate of the Humber Jazz Program with a Bachelor Of Music. As a performer of a wide variety of musical genres (big band swing, classic rock, Latin jazz, heavy metal, classical, funk... and pretty much everything in between), he is more then able/willing to work in most any style with his students. He has a strong formal background in music theory as well as a strong ear for lifting lines from a recording. His easy going approach combined with his formal training are a great combination. Galen is comfortable with piano students up to Grade 5 RCM, and all levels of guitar, bass and ukulele students.


Fernando Santana …

Fernando joins our team as a guitar instructor with a broad background in a number of different styles. Having completed his grade 10 RCM performance certificate, Fernando went onto study at the University of Toronto. Presently, he is in the process of completing his Bachelor of Music in Jazz Guitar at Humber College. Having played and taught for many years, Fernando brings a ton of experience and knowledge to his lessons. Having studied and performed in so many different styles gives him a lot to draw on and share in his lessons. Fluent in both English and Spanish as well.

Fernando is comfortable teaching acoustic guitar, electric guitar, classical guitar and Ukulele to all ages from 7 to adult.


Tom Koncan ...

Tom graduated from the Humber College Music Program where he studied jazz, latin, funk and fusion music with some of Canada's most advanced instructors. He went onto perform extensively in Canada, the USA and Europe for many years. For the past decade, Tom has made Oakville his home and focused more on local playing, recording and a regular schedule of teaching. Tom's students get the benefit of his solid musical background, his years of playing and teaching experience and most importantly, his fun loving and lighthearted personality.


Lena Temchenko …

Lena has been involved with piano since an early age. After immigrating to Canada she went onto complete her Grade 9 RCM Piano and her Intermediate Musical Rudiments. She then went onto complete her Honours Bachelor of Science in Philosophy and Psychology from the University of Toronto. While not attending to her studies, Lena has worked a number of different part time jobs including camp counsellor at an overnight camp for kids as well as leading tours of downtown Toronto.

Musically, Lena has focused much of her piano study on classical music but she also enjoys many other popular genres of music such as pop and rock. Lena would describe herself as friendly, energetic, patient and sensitive, all good qualities that she brings to each lesson with her students. Her years of classical piano study combined with her experience with kids camp as well as her other work experience make her a good choice for beginner to intermediate piano students of just about any age.

Oleksandra Fedyshyn ...

Oleksandra is a violinist, pianist and composer. She holds a Masters degree in music from the Lviv National Music Academy in the Ukraine.  In addition to her classical music endeavors, Oleksandra works as a composer for movie and film and participates as a member of a chamber choir. Oleksandra combines a unique mix of classical training with a wealth of real world performance experience to make her students lesson experiences both educational yet fun and motivating at the same time.
